Microblading or Combination Brows?
Choose fine hair strokes on their own or add soft shading for more fullness.
The shape is drawn and adjusted before treatment begins.

Compare the techniques
The difference between the two
Microblading uses hair-like strokes. Combination Brows add shading for a fuller result.

Shape mapping
The shape is drawn before pigment
The aim is to work with your natural brow growth and facial features, not copy the same shape onto everyone.
- Natural growth
- Work with the brow hair already there.
- How defined
- Choose how natural or defined you want the result.
- Old pigment
- Send a current, well-lit photo before booking.
Your brow journey
Your brow treatment, step by step
The process from the first conversation to your treatment-specific return plan.
- 01
Consult and test
Discuss the finish, natural growth and previous pigment, then complete the patch test where required.
- 02
Map and approve
Review the pencil shape and ask for adjustments before pigment is placed.
- 03
Receive the chosen technique
The artist creates hair strokes alone or combines them with shading, then supplies the matching aftercare.
- 04
Follow the return plan
Use the review or top-up guidance confirmed before booking.
Aftercare
Brow SPMU aftercare
Treat Microblading and Combination Brows as healing skin. Your written appointment instructions take priority because pigments and aftercare products differ.
Clean hands, exact products+
Wash and dry your hands before touching the area. Clean, blot or apply balm only as demonstrated, using only the supplied or specifically recommended product.
Keep the area clear+
Keep makeup, cleansers, retinoids, exfoliating acids, peels and other active products away until the studio confirms the surface has healed.
Do not pick or soak+
Do not scratch, rub, pick or peel flakes or crusts. Avoid soaking, swimming, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds, direct sun and heavy sweating until healed.
Patch test and top-up+
Complete the free patch test where required. A clear test cannot rule out every later reaction. Wait until the skin is fully healed and use the top-up timing confirmed by the studio.
Once fully healed+
Use suitable sun protection and avoid aggressive exfoliation over the pigment. Tell future laser, peel or injectable practitioners about the cosmetic tattoo.
Get medical advice+
Contact the studio and seek medical advice for increasing redness, swelling, heat or pain, severe burning or throbbing, or yellow or green unpleasant-smelling discharge. Use NHS 111 if urgent and a GP is unavailable.
Open guidanceWhich treatment looks most natural?+
Microblading focuses on hair-stroke realism. Combination Brows add shading where more density is wanted.
When should I assess the result?+
The studio will explain when to review your brows and whether a return appointment applies.
What if I have old pigment?+
Message first with a current, well-lit photo so previous work can be assessed.
